Horticultural College and Research Institute, Periyakulam is identified as implementing centre for Upper Vaigai Sub Basin activities under TNAU. This centre is located in Southern Agro-climatic zone of Tamil Nadu. This centre released 55 varieties in different crops viz. tomato, tamarind, sapota, moringa, bitter gourd, snake gourd. Besides, this centre developed the following technologies for horticultural crops.
